Luísa

I am Portuguese, born in June 1969, and I work as a Physics and Chemistry teacher, with students aged 12 to 14, in a public school.

In 2020 I completed training at the European Schoolnet Academy, in the STEM area and I am a STEM ambassador for the scientix portal, at the European Schoolnet Academy. I regularly participate in webinars promoted by both the European Schoolnet Academy and other STEM ambassadors from the scientix portal.

Being a STEM ambassador for the scientix portal has been a challenge, because it gives me the self-confidence and opportunity to propose challenges, hands-on activities integrated in the STEM area.

For three years (2021 – 2022; 2022 – 2023 and 2023 – 2024) I worked collaboratively with a primary teacher, in a science club with students aged between 6 and 8 years old). The objectives of the science club were to improve students’ scientific literacy, teach them to question everyday phenomena to access associated scientific aspects, carry out online activities and challenges to stay motivated in learning science throughout their lives.
