Trakia University Hosts Information Day on SpicE Project: Enhancing STEAM Education for Primary Teachers
On 17 September 2024, an information day was held at the Pedagogical Faculty of Trakia University, dedicated to the presentation of training opportunities under the international SpicE project. The event brought together students from different majors who had the opportunity to learn about the goals and benefits of participating in the project.
The SpicE project aims to improve the ability of primary teachers to implement an effective STEAM teaching approach to support students with moderate learning difficulties at risk of educational and social exclusion.
STEAM is used as both a means and an end to enable much needed change in special education at the elementary level for both current teachers and in preparing future educators. The project team (Assis. Mariya Zhelyazkova, PhD and chief assistant prof. Michail Kozhuharov, PhD), together with Assoc. Prof. Daniela Kozhuharova, provided detailed information about the training schedule and the benefits of the program for their future professional careers.
