n December 20, 2023, took place the online evening seminar «Code of Inclusion: Informatics across all the spectrum of Student population (theory and good practices)», co-organized by all the Informatics Education Counsellors nationwide, including SpicE research team member, Dr. Spyridon Papadakis. At this evening seminar, which was attended by over 900 people from all over Greece, mainly from the field of Informatics, issues related to the ways of teaching Informatics to students with disabilities and/ or Special Education Needs (SEN) at all education levels of general and special education, were discussed. In addition, STEM and STEAM practices, which are already implemented in special secondary education schools, were, also, presented.
In this evening seminar, the SpicE research team member of the Hellenic Open University and DAISSy Research group, Mrs. Sakellaropoulou Georgia, presented indicative learning resources and projects for teaching Informatics to the SEN student population of special secondary education, along with the SpicE project. More specifically, she presented the Competence Framework for STEAM educators in inclusive educational settings, pointing out its adaptability to the different disciplines and its transferability to special educational contexts. She, also, underlined and highlighted its usefulness in designing and implementing integrated STEAM projects and in developing and sustaining internal Communities of Practice in all educational contexts. Finally, she presented the international Community of Practice of SpicE project, inviting participants to join it.
