Project SpicE was presented at event organized by ReSciTEG at the University of Cyprus
During an Open Day event namely «Current Trends in Digital Education and Negotiation of Socio-Scientific Issues», which took place on April 8th, 2023 at the University of Cyprus, Dr. Marios Papaevripidou delivered a presentation about SpicE project.
In his presentation, he provided background information about the project (duration, partner institutions, and coordination), and focused on the project’s objectives, the up-to-date work that has been carried out, as well as future tasks and activities. He also presented the project’s website and the social media channels so that teachers can stay in touch with the project’s activities and events; talked about the idea of the formation of the community of practice, and prompted participants to enroll when the community of practice platform is announced.
Besides inviting teachers to express their interest in becoming community members, the audience was also informed about a future STEAM training program for Special Education that will take place in the context of SpicE project (both online in the form of MOOCS and a blended physical and digital format of training), which will provide teachers (both pre- and in-service) the opportunity to expand their professional expertise on how to use STEAM as a platform to facilitate students’ inclusion in the mainstream classroom.
The event was organized by ReSciTEG (Research in Science and Technology Education Group) and was attended by 60 educators (both pre-serivce and in-service teachers).
